It's called a combination course because it combines the self-guided course with an instructor and a group. The group meets by webinar at the beginning of the course so we can get to know each other a little bit, electronically. Knowing you're part of a group adds a community component to the work you will do largely on your own.
The course uses the critically acclaimed book, Spectacular Comeback, as a source for your daily exercises. Make no mistake, this isn't the kind of class where you sit back and let the instructor do all the work. Every day you have material to read and a task to perform. Some days you have more than others. Each day builds on the days before it and before long you begin to see and feel wonderful progress.
You get a daily email from your instructor summarizing the previous day and the day ahead. There's no strict requirement to do each day's work on a particular day. Some students skip a day and do two daily assignments the next day or save an assignment or two for the weekend, when there is no assigned work. Your instructor is available throughout the course if you have any questions.
After you’ve had a few weeks to get acclimated and begin feeling some results, the class meets for a Friday evening dinner in Los Angeles. We’ll socialize and share our successes and challenges. We’ll talk about the work we’ve done and the work that’s left to do. Your instructor will be on hand to help guide the discussion and to provide motivation and inspiration.
Then we go our separate ways for two more weeks of exercises and progress. At the end of the 5 weeks, we get together again for dinner and graduation. We’ll all share our progress and talk about what lies ahead.
